F1 Seasons: 1962, Graham Hill's first title (P2 Jim Clark, P3 Bruce McLaren)

Facts:

  • Jack Brabham became a constructor, scoring his first points in his own car;
  • Stirling Moss, crashed heavily at Goodwood before the championship season began. The accident put him in a coma for one month and partially paralysed the left side of his body for six months. He never raced in a Grand Prix again;
  • Ricardo Rodriguez, age 20 years 123 days, became the youngest driver to score championship points with his 4th place in Belgium, a record which stood for 38 years before Jenson Button, age 20 years 67 days, broke it at the 2000 Brazilian Grand Prix.
